Where It Started?
Our Founder Rosalina's story began in her kitchen in 2015, when she was inspired by some rose-shaped soaps in a Craft magazine to start making soap. She began by selling our lovely handcrafted soaps at farmers markets and to friends. Things progressed from there, and Baobab Swirls was registered as a business in 2017.
The concept behind Baobab Swirls was to create natural artisan skin care products in the manner of centuries past. This means that only natural, healthy ingredients that not only cleanse but also nourish the skin are used.
Our Team
At Baobab Swirls, we are proud to be a team of talented and passionate individuals who are dedicated to creating high-quality natural soaps and personal care products. Our business is owned and managed by Ms. Rosalina Mwanza, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the company.
Ms. Rosalina is supported by a team of creative ladies who bring their unique talents to the business. Emelda Malaya helps with production and also contributes her talent in crocheting to create beautiful bath accessories. Leah Kanenga is passionate about selling and is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service. Doreen Mwanza is responsible for the administration of the business and plays a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly.
We also believe in supporting the local community, so we outsource other accessories from local artisans. For example, we work with Mrs. Salimu, a talented designer who designs all of our fabric soap bags. Mr Mwange designs and produces our pottery soap dishes. We are proud to support local artisans and help to promote their talents within the community.
As a team, we are committed to creating products that are not only beautiful and luxurious but also safe, natural and eco-friendly. We take great care in sourcing the best ingredients and perfecting our formulas to ensure that our customers receive the best possible products.
